GODEFROY CHARLES: (1888-1958) French Aviator, famous for his spectacular flight passing through the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on 7th August 1919, following a victory parade to mark the end of hostilities in World War I. Vintage signed 7 x 9 photograph by Godefroy, the image depicting a bust of the pilot wearing his flying cap and goggles. Signed by Godefroy in dark blue fountain pen ink to a clear area at the base of the image, 'Souvenir de l'arc de triomphe le 7 aout 1919, Godefroy'. Scarce. Some very slight, extremely minor corner creasing, VG £100-150
