EIFFEL GUSTAVE: (1832-1923) French Civil Engineer, designer of the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. A good A.L.S., `G. Eiffel´, one page, 8vo, Madrid, 10th November 1880, to an unidentified correspondent, in French. On his printed stationery with his name to the heading “G. Eiffel”, above the printed text “Metallic Constructions“. Gustave Eiffel explains that he could see in Vienna a manuscript written by his correspondent about the Pest train station, and states `I forgot during our last meeting to ask your authorization to get a copy… without taking the risk of losing the manuscript.´ Folded. With blank integral leaf. VG £600-900 Eiffel was awarded with the Order of François-Joseph for his work on the Pest train station in Budapest.
