ISABELLA I & FERDINAND II: Known as the Catholic Kings. Isabella I (1451-1504) Queen of Castile 1474-1504 & Ferdinand II of Aragon (1452-1516) King of Castile 1474-1504, and King of Aragon 1479-1516. Catholic Monarchs who ruled jointly as The Catholic Monarchs 1475-1504. They are recognized for laying the foundations for the political unification of Spain, and also for completing the Reconquista as well as their support and financing of Christopher Columbus´ voyage of 1492 which led to the opening of the New World. An excellent document signed by the Queen and King, `Yo la Reyna´ and `Yo el Rey´, one page, 9 x 9 page, Granada, 12th October 1499, to the Royal representative in Valladolid, Alonso Ramirez de Villaescusa, in old Castilian. The document refers to the grant of a patent letter which they are sending to their correspondent in Valladolid, stating `..We are ordering that they send their parliamentary representatives to wherever we may be on twentieth of November next coming..´ further saying `..you endeavor and grant that they choose their parliamentary representatives among those who seem to you have the better intentions…and that the powers they bring are very complete and in accordance with our said patent letter..´ Countersigned by Miguel Perez de Almazán. The letters bears a very attractive watermark showing a hand. With an extensive contemporary annotation to the verso. Few extremely small holes not affecting the signatures. G £4000-6000 Alonso Ramirez de Villaescusa (1450-?) Royal Corregidor of the Kingdom, was a converted Jew and author of the 1493 work "Espejo de corregidores y jueces" a manual for corregidores and judges.

Once payment has been received in full we will be delighted to mail your puurchases to you. Lots are securely packed in house and shipments are generally made through the Royal Mail using one of their tracked services which will require a signature upon delivery. Overseas deliveries are sent via insured air mail will also require a signature upon delivery. If you require your package to be sent via couriers such as FedEx or DHL please advise us as this will incur additional costs.
