A PAIR OF 35-BORE PERCUSSION DUELLING PISTOLS BY WOGDON, LONDON, circa 1790, 15in. overall, converted from flintlock, with round swamped barrels each with full length sighting flat signed 'WOGDON LONDON', silver fore-sights, scroll engraved breeches, scroll engraved tangs each incorporating the rear-sight, signed flat bevelled bolted locks (both hammers incomplete) each with stepped tail, each engraved with scrollwork on the front of the lock at time of conversion, figured walnut full stocks (one cracked above the tail of the lock, each cracked in ramrod channel), chequered butts, set triggers (one mechanism defective), iron mounts including trigger-guards each with acorn finial, silver escutcheons and barrel-bolt escutcheons, horn fore-end caps (one missing), and original brass-mounted ramrods each with worm (iron parts with some light surface pitting and discolouration throughout, stocks bruised).
