EGG' in gold, inlaid with a platinum line and with platinum-lined touch-hole, tangs each incorporating the rear-sight and engraved with scrollwork and a martial trophy, signed flat bevelled detented bolted locks each with stepped tail, 'French' cock, rainproof pan, roller, and engraved with foliage and a sunburst, figured walnut half-stocks each with chequered butt, set triggers, engraved iron mounts including trigger-plates each with pineapple finial, apertures for an attachable shoulder-stock, and flat pommels marked 'JOSH. EGG'S IMPROVEMT.', each with a silver escutcheon on each side of the butt, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, silver fore-end caps, and horn-tipped ramrods, one with worm, the other with powder-measure; A 44-BORE SINGLE-TRIGGER OVER AND UNDER PISTOL, 13in. overall, with rebrowned twist barrels signed on the top flat of the upper barrel 'J. EGG. LONDON' in gold and with platinum-lined touch-holes and platinum line inlaid at each breech, silver fore-sight, tang incorporating the rear-sight and engraved with scrollwork and a martial trophy, signed flat locks each with bevelled tail, safety-catch, 'French' cock, semi-rainproof pan, roller and external mainspring, figured walnut stock with chequered butt, engraved iron mounts including flat pommel marked 'J. EGG'S IMPROVEMENT', and iron stirrup ramrod; and A 180-BORE SILVER-MOUNTED SINGLE-TRIGGER OVER AND UNDER POCKET PISTOL, 5 3/4in. overall, with octagonal barrels each retaining some blued finish and each signed 'J. EGG LONDON' in gold, inlaid with a gold line at each breech and with platinum-lined touch-hole, silver fore-sight, tang engraved with scrollwork and a martial trophy, signed flat engraved locks each with safety-catch, 'French' cock, semi-rainproof pan, roller and external mainspring, figured walnut stock with chequered butt, engraved silver mounts comprising trigger-guard and spurred pommel with lion-mask cap, the latter with silver suspension ring fitted in it's mouth, gold escutcheon, and iron ramrod, all contained in a velvet-lined fitted mahogany case with accessories including attachable skeleton shoulder-stock signed 'JOSEPH EGG', two three-way brass-mounted red leather-covered powder-flasks, three iron pincer bullet moulds, a mainspring clamp, and two iron wad-punches, the lid with reprofiled Joseph Egg trade label of circa 1816-35, the exterior with circular brass escutcheon and brass flush-fitting carrying handle (some minor restoration throughout).
