A GAME COUNTER DESIGNED TO BE INSTALLED ON THE COMB OF A STOCK on the fore-end wood of a shotgun, the design conforms to that invented by Payne-Galloway Patent No. 10343 of 1887 in the name of William Mansfield. He traded as Joseph Brazier & Sons, The Askes, Wolverhampton, with this device a thumb operated knuckled slide rotates 1/10th of a turn then springs back to its original position for the next movement. It was said to be particularly useful for Grouse and Partridge driving to tell what there is to pick up after the drive is over. Border and scroll engraved the thumbwheel return spring is defective.
