An interesting 20th century copper goblet with silver mounted foot, rim and circular escutcheon moulded in relief with the arms of the Kit-Kat Club dated 1703, the body engraved ‘Ranelagh’, 132mm * The celebrated publisher and bookseller Jacob Tonson is credited with founding the Kit-Cat Club in the early 18th century. With Whig beliefs and literary associations it initially met in Shire Lane moving to the Strand and most recently at Barn Elms, Tonson’s home near Barnes. The Ranelagh Club also convened at Barnes Elms between 1883 and 1939.

Purchases may be collected by prior appointment from London.  The Auctioneer may pack and send small consignments by Royal Mail Special Delivery,  Whilst every effort will be made to ensure litems are properly packed no responsibility can be accepted by the Auctioneer or his agents for any loss or damage sustained in transit by Royal Mail with whom insurance cover will be arranged.
