He studied atthe art school of A.S. Monko as of 1917. In1919, Lissim emigrated, and as of 1920, hewas studying at the art school of Reimann inLondon and living in Wiesbaden and London.He lived in Paris in the 1920s and 1930s andwas closely associated with Diaghilev, Bakst,Benois, and many others. His work is full ofOrientalist themes.The painting is made by Simon Lissim - Aporcelain designer, illustrator, stage designer,painter. Lissim lived in Paris, where he studiedat the French National School of DecorativeArts, and after he worked at the famousTheatre de L’Oeuvre in Paris. His set designfor that theatre’s 1924 production of Hamletwon Lissim, a Silver Medal from the 1925International Exhibition of Decorative Artsin Paris. He designed for Lenox and RoyalCopenhagen.
