An oak mahogany crossbanded and inlaid longcase clock case, early 19th century, with broken scroll pediment and arched glazed door flanked by turned pilasters over a boxwood inlaid frieze of a deer amongst foliage over a shaped top, lozenge centred trunk door flanked by turned pilasters and further bird and florally decorated panel, roundel inlaid baseboard and on a plinth, 92" high and a 14" white painted enamel arched dial marked indistinctly 'Cheadle', with Roman numerals and painted with rustic housing and abbey ruins in the corners and an Italianate landscape in the arch and an eight-day movement striking on a bell
