A George III oak and walnut crossbanded longcase clock, late 18th century, the square hood with blind fret carved frieze and glazed square door flanked by turned pilasters enclosing a 12" brass dial with Roman numerals and date aperture and marked Sam Vale Coventry, foliate engraved centre and pierced urn and eagle spandrels, 30 hour movement striking on a bell above an ogee arched top, bevelled door, ogive moulding and planked base board on a later plinth, distressed, 85 in (215.9 cm) high
