A World War I and World War II father and son medal group comprising World War I medal group awarded to W-5637 gunner Thomas Forshaw of The Royal Field Artillery, comprising 1914-15 Star, 1914-18 medal and Great War for Civilisation medal all in original packets of issue, also in this lot numerous items associated with World War I comprising a trench art paper knife made from a 303 bullet, a money box made from a German shell dated 1917, the front engraved `Dads Girl` and `Pozieres`, also Thomas Forshaw`s cap badge, buttons and a black arm band, possibly worn by him in memorial of his brother Trooper David Forshaw of The Royal Horse Guards, also a brass and white metal matchbox holder possibly made from a brass shell by Thomas Forshaw and engraved by him `TFE 1916` with an applied white metal badge for The Royal Field Artillery and another brass matchbox, a copy of The Soldier`s Textbook belonging to Thomas Forshaw, and a copy of the bible, also some badges being a silver St Johns Ambulance badge engraved on the back `John Heaton`, a silver Lancashire and Cheshire Coal Owners Rescue Station badge awarded to Thomas Forshaw suspended by a green ribbon, a Lancashire, Cheshire and North Wales Colliery Deputies and Shot Firers Association button badge, an enamel and chromed Cheshire Coal Owners Rescue Station badge, and a cotton handkerchief decorated with the allied armies flags, a photograph of Thomas Forshaw with other members of the Royal Field Artillery etc, also included in this lot are the medals of Thomas Forshaw`s son Corporal David Forshaw of the RAF who served during World War II comprising Africa Star, Burma Star, 1939-45 medal and defence medal, all in original packet of issue complete with ribbons, also a pair of Air Ministry issued sunglasses in brown metal case with Air Ministry crown and initials, an Air Ministry photograph of numerous military personal seated in front of and on a plane, the reverse signed by most of the people illustrated, an RAF cap complete with badge, an RAF New Testament, an RAF diary dated 1942, wallet containing papers, numerous magazines including The Jungle Hiker, Air Flow, letters etc also in this lot is a South Lancashire Prince of Wales cap badge etc (illustrated)
