1940s silver dressing table set comprising of a hand held mirror, brush, clothes brush and comb all with engine turned decoration and personal engraving.
The dressing table set is in reasonably good condition. There are surface scratches and dents to all of the silver, and the engine turned decoration is worn in places. There are areas of tarnish in the grooves of the reeding. The glass in the mirror is spotted with age. The bristles of the brushes are discoloured and splayed, and there are a lot missing from the clothes brush. The wooden parts of the brushes are dirty and worn, and there are polish stains on parts of them. The silver mount on the comb is loose and there is a build-up of dirt and polish underneath it. The hallmark and cartouche on the comb are very rubbed and the hallmark is illegible. The 'Peggy' engravings on the other pieces are all rubbed but still legible, and the hallmarks are all indistinct and of varying degrees of legibility.
