Victorian silver rectangular vesta case with engraved foliate decoration, dated Birmingham 1896 together with a George V silver rectangular cigarette case with gilt interior with engraved initial engraving to the front. The vesta case and cigarette case are both badly tarnished. The vesta is also extremely dirty and discoloured inside but is in otherwise good condition. There is a shallow dent on the top. It has some minor surface scratches, but the engraving is very clear and sharp still, and the hinge works well. The hallmark is rubbed but legible. he cigarette case has a number of scratches and a couple of dents. The hinge is slightly damaged on one end, and a sharp bit is sticking out. The case closes but is slightly loose. There is discolouration to the inside. The elastic has perished and has lost its stretch. The hallmark is clear and unrubbed.
