A late Victorian silver cased glass scent bottle embossed with a classical scene and attached chain. Length measures approximately 3ins (7.5cm), silver weight 1.75ozt (54.3gms). Hallmarked London 1900, sponsors mark reads W.C. The silver case has some surface scratches and small dints to it, but these are not serious. There are two small cracks in the silver, one on the back at the side of the neck, and the other on the front at the bottom of the decoration. There are a number of areas where polish has built up in the grooves in the embossed scenes, so the case would benefit from being cleaned. The hinges work well, but the lid does not close properly as the catch has become loose. The attached chain is in good repair. The hallmark is clear and legible. The glass bottle is in good condition. There are some imperfections and air bubbles in the glass, and some very slight surface scratches, but nothing serious. Overall the scent bottle and case are in reasonably good condition.
