A 1930's hinged table cigarette box with engine turned decoration to the lid and wooden interior. Width measures 5 1/4ins (13.5cm). Hallmarked Mappin & Webb London 1937. There are some surface scratches to the body of the box, but these are not serious. The hinges work well although the lid fits a little tightly, and is therefore a bit stiff. There are some marks and blemishes to the silver, and there are some pieces of sellotape stuck on to the sides. The box has a few small dents around the sides. There are some build-ups of polish around the inside of the lid, and also on the handle. The wooden interior is in reasonable condition, with some marks from polish, and a couple of very tiny chips.
