A late 18th century Russian silver tapered beaker by Andrei Dementiev, Moscow 1791, assay master Alexei Viklyayev, with a slightly flared rim, embossed with an eagle, a pillar with flowers and fruit, scrolls and rocaille work, a similar scheme verso, later engraved `M . A . E . M`, 9cm (3 1/2in) high, 89g (2.85 oz) Dating from the reign of Catherine II the Great, ruled from 1762 to 1796.
