A pair of George III silver circular waiters by Robert Jones (I) and John Scofield, London 1777, each with beaded and leaf-chased borders on three feet and engraved at the centre with an armorial, 17cm (6.75in) diameter, 464g (14.75 oz) (each worn and one with repaired border) The arms of Stevens impaling Robinson. There is no doubt about the surnames on this armorial, but little niceties of engraving have been worn so that it is not possible to name the branch of the very widespread Robinson clan. The Stevens side is likewise pretty worn but the arms answer the description of those granted to Stevens of Gloucestershire in 1606.
