Sam'l North, London, a gilt-metal pair case pocket watch in earlier case, no.132. circa 1770, the fusee verge movement with a foliate pierced and mask engraved balance cock, a silver regulation dial, three-arm brass balance, and square Egyptian pillars, the white enamelled dial with black painted Roman numerals and Arabic outer minutes, the earlier case probably Swiss circa 1690. and polychrome enamelled with three exotic birds amidst a profusion of flowers, the inside of the case with Minerva on a yellow ground (later associated bezel), the outer case with turned bands and a domed glass back, together with a black ray-skin case (the inner case poorly repaired and the movement requires attention) Cf.
