Description
A mid-Victorian Staffordshire pottery hen tureen and cover, the base in the form of a basket and the cover as a chicken roosting on her eggs, the bird basically light brown but with feathers coloured in grey and darker shades of brown, the basket enamelled in lighter orange-brown, overall length 22.2cm, unmarked, circa 1850-80 (some enamel flaking).
