A Fine Pair of Silver Mounted Turkish Flintlock Holster Pistols, Early 19th Century, each with a 34cm three-stage sighted barrel, lined and inlaid at the forte with koftgari scrolling foliage, engraved locks with chiselled tails, hardwood full-stocks inlaid with silver foliage at the tangs, chiselled and engraved silver mounts including side-plate, pommel and trigger guards bearing `Tughra` marks, complete with ramrods, 51cm long. Provenance: Colonel Lord Evelyn Stuart (7th May 1773-16 August 1842), second son of John Stuart, 1st Marquess of Bute, son of Prime Minister John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute, thence by descent.
