An early brass torsion timepiece, Attributed to Jahresuhren Fabrik, Germany, circa 1890 The four-pillar single train movement with torsion suspension for the rotating balance weight and anchor escapement, the white enamel Roman numeral circular dial inscribed R.L. PATENT 2182, US PATENT 269052, DR PATENT 2437 to centre, the movement front-plate with three turned finials to the shaped crest, on two brass pillars, on moulded brass base, 23.5cm high, with glass dome. An identical clock is illustrated and described in Shenton, Alan and Rita The Price Guide to Clocks, 1840-1940 on page 63.
