Knight Bachelor’s Badge, 2nd type breast badge, silver-gilt and enamel, hallmarked London 1932, red enamel background badly chipped; Distinguished Service Order, G.V.R., light chipping to both wreaths; 1914-15 Star (Major C. Walton. R.E.); British War and Victory Medals, with M.I.D. oak leaf (Lt. Col. C. Walton.); France, Legion of Honour, Officer’s 4th Class breast badge, gold and enamels, a few small enamel chips to the reverse; Belgium, Order of the Crown, Commander’s neck badge, silver-gilt and enamels, bad enamel chip to reverse centre; together with Kaisar-i-Hind, 2nd Class, G.V.R., silver badge awarded to his wife, this lacking top suspension brooch, enamel damage as described, otherwise generally good very fine (8) £1500-1800

Cusack Walton was born on 26 February 1878, son of F. T. G. Walton, C.I.E. He married in 1909, Julia Margaret (Kaisar-i-Hind medal 1933), daughter of the Rev. D. M. Gardner, Indian Civil Service. He was educated at Clifton College, and the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, and was commissioned into the Royal Engineers in 1897. He arrived in India in October 1899, for the Military Works Services, and was appointed to the North-Western Railway Company as Assistant Engineer 3rd Grade. He served on State Railways in India, 1901-14 and 1919-32, and as Agent, North-Western Railway, 1924-32; retired 1933; Hon. Secretary India, Ceylon and Iran Missions, Church Missionary Society, 1934-38. Order of the Crown of Belgium, 1925. He served in the European War 1914-19 (despatches, D.S.O., Legion of Honour, Bt. Lieut.-Colonel). Colonel Sir Cusack Walton died on 27 February 1966.

If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.
Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
