Gds.); Defence Medal 1939-45; Army L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., type 1 (2646779 C. Sjt., C. Gds.); Army Meritorious Service Medal, G.V.R., type 1 (10376 Sjt. Dmr., 1/C. Gds.); together with recipient’s brass bed plate, suspension with old silver-solder repair to last medal which no longer swivels, some contact wear overall, otherwise generally nearly very fine or better (7) £200-250 M.S.M. London Gazette 18 January 1919 (Sergeant Drummer, 1st Battalion, Coldstream Guards). Alfred Douglas served in France and Flanders with the B.E.F. from 12 August 1914.
