An 18th century boarded and dovetail elm strong box, the lid with an iron central ring and applied moulded edge opened with two hinges to reveal a pair of drawers and an open tray. The lid is secured with two locks, with plain brass oval escutchens, a pair of brass carrying handles, and two further iron rings. Width 24 1/2ins, depth 13 1/2ins, height 12 1/2ins.
