Online Bidding
Collingbourne Auctioneers offers an online bidding service via the-saleroom.com for bidders who cannot attend the sale.
In completing the bidder registration on www.the-saleroom.com and providing your credit card details and unless alternative arrangements are agreed with ’Collingbourne Auctioneers’ :
1. authorise ’Collingbourne Auctioneers’ if they so wish, to charge the credit card given in part or full payment, including all fees, for items successfully purchased in the auction via the-saleroom.com, and
2. confirm that you are authorised to provide these credit card details to ’Collingbourne Auctioneers’ through www.the-saleroom.com and agree that ’Collingbourne Auctioneers’ are entitled to ship the goods to the card holder name and card holder address provided in fulfilment of the sale.
Please note that any lots purchased via the-saleroom.com live auction service will be subject to an additional 3% commission charge + VAT at the rate imposed on the hammer price
Condition of sale
1. The highest bidder to be the purchaser and if any dispute arises between two or more bidders as to the last or the best bidding, the lot in dispute to be immediately put up again and resold or the Auctioneer may declare the purchaser.
2. The Auctioneers reserve the right of bidding for, withdrawing, consolidation, dividing or altering the order of any Lot or Lots.
3. The bidding to be regulated by the Auctioneer.
4. In the case of the Lots upon which there is a reserve only, the Auctioneer shall have the right to bid on the behalf of the Seller.
5. The Purchaser to give their names and places of abode email address and phone number.
6. All Lots to be at the risk of the Purchaser after the fall of the hammer and to be absolutely cleared from the premises at the Purchasers expense and the whole of the purchase money paid within 24 hours of the sale.
7. If you are an internet buyer your payment will be taken from the card you have registered
8. All Lots are sold subject to all faults, defects and errors of description, whether apparent or not and without any warranty or representation as to quality, condition or any other matter.
9. All disputes shall be determined by the Auctioneers, whose decision shall be final and binding upon the Vendors and the Purchaser.
10. No Lots will be allowed to be removed from the premises except on the production of the receipted account, and to prevent mistakes no Lot will be delivered during the time of the sale.
Buyers commission
A purchasers commission of 15% plus V.A.T. 7% on commission will be charged in addition to the purchase price. 3% Credit card surcharged all overseas cards.
Notice
All statements contained in this catalogue as to the authenticity, attribution, genuineness, origin, authorship, date, age, period, condition or quality of any Lot are statements of opinion and are not be taken as, or as implying, statements or representations of fact.
Intending purchasers must satisfy themselves by inspection r otherwise as to all such matters and as to the physical description of any Lot. It is unlikely that any antique or secondhand item will be perfect in every respect.
Payment and Removal of Goods.
All lots must be paid for on sale day and transport excluding. Please note at the fall of the hammer all lots become the responsibility of the purchaser. Failure to pay for goods within 7 days of the auction will result in the sale being rescinded. The defaulting buyer will be blocked form bidding at future Collingbourne auctions.
11. Postal/Service
We are not professional packers or shippers, though we will try our best to pack items in a correct way which will ensure item arrive safely. How every Collingbourne auctioneers do not insure items posted and therefore will not be held responsible for making any claim for damage. There are some item that due to their nature, size or weight we can not post out, but we can recommend couriers who you can arrange to pick the item up from our saleroom. They may also be able to insure some item which we are unable to insure.
12. All buyers/Couriers must check their purchases prior to departure from the auction. Collingbourne auctions will accept no claims for loss or damage thereafter
