Edwardian silver salver having engraved foliate decoration and with a stylised pie-crust border, bears presentation inscription to D.S. Davies M.D., makers Barker Brothers, Birmingham 1902, 32.5cm diameter, 27oz approx. David Samuel Davies was Medical Officer of Health for Bristol during the later years of the 19th Century. He was Surgeon-Captain in the 1st Gloucestershire Volunteer Artillery and Honourable Medical Officer for H.M. training ship Formidable.
