Jules Wabbes (1919-1974) was a Belgian architect and designer renowned for his elegant and functional furniture designs. His Mid-Century Slatted Coat Rack with Brass Hooks, originating from Belgium in the 1950s, exemplifies his signature style. This coat rack features a minimalist yet sophisticated design, typical of Wabbes' work. The rack is crafted from slats of wood, providing a warm and natural aesthetic. The choice of wood, often teak or oak, adds richness and texture to the piece. What sets this coat rack apart are the brass hooks, which not only serve a practical purpose but also add a touch of luxury and refinement. The brass material complements the wood beautifully, creating a striking visual contrast and enhancing the overall elegance of the piece. Functionality was paramount in Wabbes' designs, and this coat rack is no exception. The slatted design allows for air circulation around the coats, preventing mustiness and ensuring they remain fresh. The arrangement of the hooks provides ample space for hanging coats, hats, scarves, and other accessories. width 99 cm height 176 cm
