MARKED OOMERSI MAWJI, KUTCH, NORTHWEST INDIA, LATE 19TH CENTURY
The teapot on plain base, of squat baluster form, with straight neck rising to a slightly domed lid with finial worked in the form of a naja-naja, with serpentine handle and spout, the handle with ivory isolators, the decoration of animals hunting and fighting on dense scrolling floral ground; the sugar bowl of similar form and with further similar repousse decoration ; the creamer on plain base, of elongated baluster form, with serpentine spout and finely decorated with a tiger and a wild boar and dense scrolling ground, each marked OM Bhuj at the base
