QUELLIEN, Hubert (1619-1687). Praecipuarum effigierum ac ornamentorum amplissimae Curiae Amstelrodamensis. Amsterdam: Frederick de Witt, 1665-1668 [but 1668]. 2 parts in one volume, 2° (445 x 280mm). Etched throughout apart for 3 text leaves, 108 plates as per RIBA of which two folding and mounted and two double-page, including the titles, lists of plates and portraits. (The large folding plates with old marginal repairs and creases, some other plates with repairs and creases rarely affecting images, text leaf browned and with some tears.) 19th-century calf, red edges (early rebacking, joints splitting, some rubbing). Provenance: Earl Vane (Library of the Rev. John Vane, booklabel).
First collected edition, recording the fine sculptural decorations in Amsterdam City Hall by Artus Quellien. The individual parts were first published in 1655 and 1663 respectively, and issued here together by de Witt with 4 additional plates. Berlin Kat. 4211; RIBA 2686.
