Sergei RACHMANINOFF. Photograph signed (‘Sergi Rachmaninof’), London, 2 February 1914, the image in postcard form by Breitkopf & Härtel, 135 x 85mm (some silvering at margins), annotated on verso to record his performance at a Royal Albert Hall Sunday Concert on 1 February;
also photographs signed by John Philip Sousa (1905, with a brief autograph musical quotation from ‘The Diplomat’), Enrico Caruso (30 August 1909, depicting the singer with and without a moustache), Gustave Charpentier and Ruggero Leoncavallo; and cut or directly inscribed signatures of Pablo Casals, Henry J. Wood, Ellen Terry (1918), Ernest H. Shepard (1963), Compton Mackenzie (1940) and Emlyn Williams, pasted, loosely inserted or directly entered on the leaves of in an album, 4to (the binding heavily worn).
