The sword with etched blade including 'GR V' cypher and battle honours including South Africa 1899-1900, regulation hilt with red-faced white leather liner, and bullion sword-knot, in regulation dress scabbard, together with a field service scabbard; the items of uniform including an officer's helmet with plume, each in original tin, cuirass with blue velvet edging and lined in red leather, in original tin chest, two red dress tunics, one with gold bullion epaulettes and aiguillettes, gold bullion dress belt, dress sash, a pair of blue uniform trousers with red stripes, a greatcoat, two undress frock coats, one retaining medal ribbons, two pairs of blue riding breeches each with red stripe, mess dress including waistcoats, two No.1 dress caps in circular tin, a buff leather field service belt, three leather dress back pouches, a fine shabraque with bullion decoration and other horse and saddle fittings, four pairs of white leather gloves, one pair with glove-trees, one pair of black leather riding boots with trees, a pair of gilt brass regimental stirrups, a desk-top cigarette box, and various other items, some elements contained in original tins marked 'Viscount Althorp 1st Life Guards'
