J. B. Priestley. TLS. (‘ Dear Peter Willes, I meant to write to you earlier to thank you for looking after us so nicely in Leeds….I might as well wait until I had seen the programme. I though it very good. ……I do not know if you are acquainted with this novel I am sending, which dates back to 1951. Believe it or not, I have had many letters describing how this novel had to be taken away from people in hospital because they laughed so much. I hope it will make you laugh.’’.
