Description
Third Reich Landespolizei Peaked Cap, good example of an early period peaked cap in Police blue / green wool with green piping to the crown and green piping bordering the bottle green central band. Single roundel cockade and aluminium police cap eagle. Patent chinstrap with side buttons. Fibre peak with cross hatch design to the underside. Brown leather sweatband and grey cloth lining with celluloid diamond having gilt tooled makers trademark. Cap shows some service wear. The landespolizei was part of the German state police before the formation of the Third Reich, many of its serviceman continued to serve in the Third Reich era when the organisation was absorbed into the larger Police force under the control of Heinrich Himmler and the SS. Many servicemen kept wearing the old style caps with the new insignia of the Third Reich.
