A grooved decoration chest, juniper (or cedar), decoration with grooves filled with putty (gall nut) "Renaissance portico with amphora and two heads of imaginary animals adorned with plants", "Imaginary figure and animal decorated with plants", "Knight on horseback with armor and spear" and "Trees with birds", front edge of the top and tops of the vertical boards also with grooved decoration, interior with pigeon holes cover, Portuguese - Azores, 16th/17th C., missing socle, restoration, minor faults and defects, traces of woodworms, missing original mount replaced by scalloped iron lock escutcheon and engraved "Two-headed eagle". Notes: this type of chest was studied in FERRÃO, Bernardo - "Mobiliário Português - dos primórdios ao maneirismo - volume quarto - Anexos".
