Victorian burr walnut and inlaid davenport, circa 1845-60, the raised stationery cupboard back with scroll pierced three quarter gallery, over two figured cupboard doors inlaid with floral scrolls and bellflower pendants in boxwood within boxwood and ebony strung borders, opening to reveal maple lined interior with arched pigeonholes, pen rest and receptacles for inkwells, the base with leather inset slope front with a moulded edge and further boxwood and ebony stringing, opening to reveal birds eye maple interior with two short drawers fitted over a side panel door opening to four birds eye maple fronted drawers with recessed brass handles, similarly inlaid panel to the opposing side and further inlays beneath the slope, satinwood inlaid pilasters, raised on block feet with pot castors (with slight loss of moulding and split to the slope front), 22.5 in (57.15 cm) wide, 43 in (109.22 cm) high
