Edward Pearce, though best known as a distinguished Law Lord & Privy Counsellor, was also a talented artist. He first took up painting in 1932 when as a young barrister he was recovering from tuberculosis.
He was the son in law of Bertram Priestman, and a friend of Edward Seago. Together they made a number of painting tours to the Continent, travelling in Seago's Austin Seven
