Indian Army. 2nd Regiment of Cavalry, Punjab Frontier Force Victorian Officer’s badge circa 1891-1901.
A fine scarce die-stamped gilt brass example. Resting in an open laurel wreath a crowned oval strap “Second Cavalry” with VR cypher to voided centre. The wreath, which bears four part honour scroll rests on a tri-part scroll “Punjab Frontier Force”. Four flat lugs to reverse indicating an overlay. VGC Later redesignated Sam Browne’s Cavalry in various forms.
