A fine unmarked cast silver example, the backing plate bearing Birmingham hallmarks for 1912. Within a crowned laurel wreath, a quoit engraved “Sikhs” with “52” to the centre. Between the crown and quoit a scroll inscribed “Punjab”. Across the base of the wreath, a tri-part scroll below inscribed “Afghanistan 78-80” “Ahmed Khel” and “Kandahar 1880”. Below the wreath a scroll inscribed “Frontier Force”. Three screw posts to reverse. VGC 2nd Sikh Infantry became 52nd Sikhs in 1903 and 2nd Bn. 12th Frontier Force Regt. in 1922.
