Indian Army. 3rd Cavalry Hyderabad Contingent Victorian Officer’s helmet badge circa 1890-1903.

A fine scarce die-stamped silver plated example. Superimposed on crossed lances. an Imperial crowned scroll inscribed “Cavalry H.C.” with “3” between the base of the lances. Four loops, toned black, to reverse. VGC Raised in 1826 as 3rd Regiment Nizam’s Cavalry and became 3rd Cavalry Hyderabad Contingent in 1854. 1890 they became the 3rd Lancers Hyderabad Contingent and were disbanded in 1903.
