Indian Army. 130th PWO Baluchis Officer’s pouch belt plate circa 1903-06.

A fine and scarce die-stamped silvered example. Within a laurel wreath surmounted by a crown on a blank tablet, a Maltese cross with ball finials to the tips, the top arm inscribed “China 1900”; to the centre, resting in a crescent inscribed “Baluchis”, “130 on a lined ground”. Four screw posts to reverse and complete with backing plate. Originally raised in 1858 by Major John Jacob; 30th Regiment (Jacob’s) Bombay Native Infantry or 3rd Belooch Regiment was redesignated 130th Jacob’s Baluchis in the 1903 Kitchener reforms. in 1906 the Prince of Wales became Colonel-in-Chief and the crown on pouch belt plates was replaced with Prince of Wales’s plumes.
