A good rare example by Ranken & Co. Seeded gilt rectangular plate with burnished rim mounted with silver crossed lances bearing “15” at their intersection. Fixed belt loop present, detachable belt loop now absent. A little service wear. 15th Bengal (Cureton’s Mooltanees) Cavalry in 1870 changed the colour of the uniform, from green with scarlet facings to blue with scarlet facings. In 1890 the regiment was redesignated as Lancers and the Regiment adopted the Lancer pattern of tunic and silver pouch.
