1st Royal Guernsey Militia Victorian OfficerÕs helmet plate circa 1881-1901.
A scarce gilt example. Crowned star mounted with laurel wreath and strap ÒPro Aris Rege Et FocisÓ, the black velvet centre mounted with silvered Arms of Guernsey . Mounted n thr the base of the wreath, a silver tri-part scroll inscribed ÒRoyal Guernsey MilitiaÓ surmounted by silver strung bugle with Ò1Ó between the cords. Across the top of the wreath a silvered scroll inscribed ÒDiex AieÓ. Three loops to reverse. Some service wear, gilt worn.
