13th Light Dragoons Victorian Officers pattern shako plate 1857-61. A splendid rare example. The rich gilt crowned Maltese cross with silver facetted inlays to the arms of the cross, centrally on a silver ground, a gilt ""XIII"" within a strap ""Viret In Aeternum"", on the edges of the cross ""Light Dragoons"" and the honours ""Inkerman Sevastopol Balaklava Waterloo Peninsula Alma"". Two loops to reverse; wires behind the crown absent otherwise VGC. The Regiment converted to Hussars in 1861.
