Royal Marines Victorian Crimean War Officers ""Albert"" shako plate circa 1844-55. A very fine and scarce gilt example. Crowned star mounted with full laurel wreath bearing top scroll ""Gibraltar"" with lower bi-part scroll inscribed ""Per Mare Per Terram"". Centrally a silver Globe, mounted on the lowest star point, a silvered fouled anchor. Two loops to reverse and two pairs of loops behind the crown. Minor crease to 3 oclock point. VGC (KK 1087)
