65th (2nd Yorkshire, North Riding) Regiment of Foot Victorian Officers shako plate circa 1861-69. A splendid scarce rich gilt example. Crowned star mounted with Garter surmounted by a scroll inscribed ""India""; to the voided centre, the Tiger over floreated ""65"". Across the tail of the Garter, a scroll inscribed ""Arabia"". Loops replaced with brooch pin to reverse. VGC (KK 147) 65th granted the Tiger and ""India"" on 24th February 1823 and ""Arabia"" on 24th February the following year.
