Royal Marine Light Infantry / RM Chatham Division Band ORs helmet plate circa 1905-50. A good die-stamped brass example. Crowned star bearing laurel wreath with scroll inscribed ""Gibraltar"" to the top and fouled anchor to the junction below. Within the wreath, a strap inscribed ""Per Mare Per Terram"". To the centre, a globe in relief. Silvered rose mounted over the fouled anchor. Two loops to reverse. GC (KK 1118) White Rose of York granted by General Order, R.Marines 31 of 1902 for their attendance on HRH The Duke of York (late George V) on his voyage to the Colonies in 1901.
