Abigail Brown A Britannia silver 'Silene' vase London 2021 Hand formed naturalistically as a flower head, with a curled over organic petal rim, the body in low bellied segments, with a hand hammered surface, with areas of spot hammering to enhance the organic form, raised on a collet foot, height 10.5cm, weight 7.5oz. Footnotes: Biography Abigail Brown has been producing contemporary designs in silver since 2001. She has exhibited internationally at venues including the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Saatchi Gallery, Goldsmiths' Hall and the German Goldsmiths' House in Hanau. Her silverware is widely collected and is included in the public collection of National Museum Wales in Cardiff. She is a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths' and she has been granted the Freedom of the City of London. In 2011 Abigail undertook a residency in the Gates of the Arctic National Park & Preserve, in Alaska. Her main focus was the plant life, the tiny tundra plants surviving under huge skies, mountains and weather. She has continued this theme and in 2014 Abigail had the opportunity to work with renowned Silversmith Rod Kelly at the South House Silver Workshop in Shetland. Abigail Brown creates one off and small batch production items of silverware and jewellery. She often works in silver using ancient hammer forming methods that have been in use for millennia, specialising in raising to create beautiful one-off art objects and functional silverware and jewellery. Buyers' Premium and Charges


For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
