A FLINTLOCK AMERICAN LONG RIFLE, second quarter of the 19th century. 40 3/8 in., .54 caliber octagon barrel with brass blade front sight and notch rear sight; flat lock plate with rounded tail marked below the pan 'GDB/KEIM & SON,' double set trigger; figured maple stock with brass furniture and German silver crescent moon inlay on the cheekpiece, wood rammer. Overall lg. 55 3/8 in. Condition: The rifle is coated in a thin layer of varnish, stock has losses along the forward part of the rammer channel and nose and toe, trigger guard is an old replacement, action needs attention. We are proud to present these objects to benefit the acquisition fund of the Fort Ticonderoga Museum. We wholeheartedly support the Fort's mission to ensure that future generations learn from the struggles that shaped our nation.
