AN AINSWORTH INSPECTED AND MARTIALLY MARKED COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER, 1874. Serial number 7046, .45 Colt, barrel marked 'COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. Cs. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.' and 'A' on the underside, frame marked 'PAT.SEPT.19.1871/PAT.JULY.2.1872' and 'U.S.'; cylinder with matching serial number and 'A' behind one of the flutes, trigger guard marked 'A' below the serial number, grip frame marked 'A' below the hammer; bullseye ejector rod head; walnut grip, all visible serial numbers match including the barrel. Barrel lg. 7 1/2, overall lg. 13 in. Condition: Revolver toned to mottled gray/brown, sight has been replaced, grip is worn and has scattered dings and dents, action functions but cylinder lockup is inconsistent.
