AN ENGLISH COMMERCIAL FLINTLOCK MUSKET, Ramsay & Southerland, Birmingham, c. 1815. 39 1/4 in., .76 caliber round barrel with ring decoration at the breech and post-1813 Birmingham proof marks, slightly convex lock with double line border engraving and marked 'RAMSAY/SOUTHERLAND' below the pan; walnut stock with inspector marks below the trigger guard; brass furniture of India Pattern form including a butt plate, trigger guard, side plate, three rammer pipes and a nose cap, steel rammer with button head and plain end. Overall lg. 55 in. Condition: Good overall condition, the musket is coated in a thin layer of varnish, metal cleaned bright, stock has scattered dings, dents and gouges, action functions properly.
